There's nothing like being outdoors in Maine during the summer months...Plan a hike up a mountain overlooking Penobscot Bay and then enjoy an ocean-side meal and sleepout...Join a group of campers assisting local blueberry pickers...Learn to make bowls out of birchbark...Hike or bicycle "off-road" on trails through pine forests and past foundations of turn-of-the-century farms...

Designed for campers who love the outdoors, HVC's Tipi Village allows ten campers and two staff to live in tipis, cook over an open fire, and study the ways of traditional Native American life. Swimming, canoeing, and hiking are integrated with gathering firewood, bead and leatherwork, traditional stories and games, and learning about each other in a small, tightly knit community.
