Get Your Mud Boots On!

March 15, 2006

Hey Guys!

I am happy to report that the weather around these parts has been very Spring-like these past couple of days, and we can’t help but get excited about it. O.k. so the winter really hasn’t been that bad, and it’s been by all accounts very mild with only a few days of really really cold weather, but even still there is nothing like the beginning of Spring!

The llamas have a little more spring in their step, the pigs are enjoying the warm sun (their little piggy skin is not made for the winter months, they have spent most of the winter sleeping in their cozy winter home with the heating lamp on) the mini-horses are frolicking a little more around the paddock, they are even starting to get along better with the donkeys, which can be nothing less than a spring miracle.

You know what the beginning of spring means don’t you? It just means we are that much closer to Summer, and I don’t have to tell you what happens in the Summer! I hope that wherever you are, you are having fine weather as well and around these parts we will be collecting sap, watching the flowers grow, and trying not to get stuck in the mud!

Spring also means we start working on some projects that need warmer weather. Check out these pictures of a new well being dug for the dining hall. It’s pretty neat. I have never seen a well get dug before and they have to use this giant drill. When they finally hit water it came gushing out like a geyser! Pete took a picture of the mud for you so you can see what we are up against. Just imagine what camp’s dirt road is going to look with a little more rain and warmer weather! And Abby managed to snap a picture of one of the camp cats up on the roof of Pete and Meg’s house. Wonder how he got up there? Don’t worry he reported for dinner right on time later on in the day!

Talk to you later alligators!

Love,

Lazy Susan
