Driving Directions to Hidden Valley

Please use these, as Mapquest and GPS and Google's written instructions have often led visitors astray.

When a camper is arriving on the first day of his-her stay here, upon arrival: Drive right into camp where greeters will meet you near the red camp office on the left side of the road.

For visits mid-session, upon arrival: Please park in the parking lots and walk a short distance down the road to our red office on the left.

-------

From Portland, Boston, & South: Take I-95 to Exit 113 (Route 3 East.) Stay on Rt. 3 for about 28 miles; then make a left onto Route 220 North. Drive 5 1/4 miles on Rt. 220. As you come up a hill, take a right onto an asphalt road (called the Center Rd.), and then an immediate right down an unpaved road (Hidden Valley Rd.) where you'll see our signs. We are in the valley, a bit more than a mile down this road. Note arrival info at the top of this page.

From Belfast or Camden: Take Rt. 3 West from Belfast. (To get to Belfast from Camden, take Route 1 North, or figure out the shortcut noted below.) After about 10 miles on Rt. 3, you will see the brown/beige former Crowe Rope facility on the left. Take the next right (after you've passed about 5 or 6 homes on the right) onto Thompson Ridge Road. +++ This road winds its way uphill (bear left at the top of the first hill) and around 2 or 3 sharp curves for about 3-4 miles. As you approach the road's end you will see HVC signs ahead. Make a left onto the unpaved road (Hidden Valley Rd.) We are a bit more than a mile down this road. Note arrival info at the top of this page.

Camden Shortcut: Take 105 into Hope and bear right onto 235. Go about 1/2 mile and bear left onto the Moody Mountain Road. After about 8-10 minutes, the Moody Mt. Road ends. Make a left onto 173/131 and then, just after the Fraternity Village Store in Searsmont Village, bear right onto the New England Rd. (aka Paul Road). Take this to its end. Then make a right onto Rt. 3 E. About 1/2 mile later, take a left off of Route 3 onto the Thompson Ridge Road and follow directions marked +++ just above.

From Waterville, Bangor and North: From Waterville take Rt. 137 East to the intersection with Rt. 220 at a blinker. The corner has a diner, Hilltop Store, and tractor dealer. Turn right on to Rt. 220 South, then note ++'d directions below... From Bangor take I-95 and exit at Route 69. Take Rt. 69 South to Rts. 9 & 202 West. Make a right. After about 25 min, turn left on Rt. 220 South. Then...
++ After the intersection of Routes 220 and 137, proceed south on Route 220 about 5 miles. As the road goes up a hill and curves to the right, you must carefully make a left turn onto an asphalt road, (called the Center Road). Then make an immediate right onto our dirt road (Hidden Valley Road). We are in the valley, a bit more than a mile down this road. Note arrival info at the top of this page.

From Midcoast: Take Rt. 1 North to Moody's Diner and take a left on to Rt. 220 North. After about 15 minutes, Route 220 will cross Route 17 and wind through the village of Washington. Eventually, Rt. 220 itself takes a left near Liberty. Make this left and a half-mile later cross Rt. 3 and drive 5 1/4 miles further north on Rt. 220. As you come up a hill, take a right onto an asphalt road (called the Center Rd.), and then an immediate right down an unpaved road (Hidden Valley Road) where you'll see our signs. We are in the valley, a bit more than a mile down this road. Note arrival info at the top of this page.
