Hidden Valley views social networking sites, personal Web sites, and Weblogs positively and respects the right of employees to use them as a medium of self-expression. If an employee associates him- or herself with the camp on such Internet venues, readers of such Web sites or blogs may view the employee as a spokesperson of the camp or view the information or images as representative of the camp. In light of this possibility, the Camp requires, as a condition of employment, employees to commit to the guidelines here, when referring to the camp, its programs or activities, its campers and families, and/or other employees, anywhere on the Internet.

As a condition of employment at Hidden Valley Camp, I agree to the following: 1. All my Weblogs and personal Web pages (Facebook, myspace, etc) will be set to private to ensure access is with permission only and thereby prohibit children’s access to private adult space. 2. I understand that exchanging emails, letters and phone calls with campers after their departure is acceptable, but children will never be granted access to my personal pages. 3. I will not post comments using the proprietary names Hidden Valley Camp or HVC or the words Hidden Valley, instead mentioning “summer job,” time in Maine,” “camp,” etc. I will not use blogs or personal Web sites to disparage the camp, campers, or other employees of the camp. 4. I will not post images on my personal Web page(s) that are not appropriate, involve alcohol, drugs or sexual references, use images of camp children or employees without expressed permission, or that in any way include mention the Camp or include Camp images or clothing, etc. 5. I will not use blogs or personal Web sites to discuss, engage in or discuss engaging in conduct that is prohibited by camp policies, including, but not limited to, the use of alcohol and drugs, sexual behavior, sexual harassment, and bullying, intimidation or harassment. (Behaviors that constitute harassment, intimidation and bullying include, but are not limited to, comments that are derogatory with respect to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, color, or disability; sexually suggestive, humiliating, or demeaning comments; and threats to stalk, haze, or physically injure a current or former employee or camper.) 6. I understand that Hidden Valley Camps, Inc reserves the right to request and receive within 24 hours of such a request, changes to any online postings associated with the following - Hidden Valley Camp, its former or current employees, campers and families, or any activities and programs - that reflect negatively on the camp or persons associated with the camp or that are determined by camp directors to be in violation of any of these policies. 7. I understand that all terms of the Hidden Valley Camp’s Employment Agreement will apply to this Internet Policy, including the following: Obligations under this Policy shall survive the termination of my employment period. 8. I understand that violations of the terms noted here may lead to dismissal or legal action. 9. I agree that employment is conditioned upon the camp’s receipt of a signed Internet Policy page.
